The Confederations Cup kicked off today in Johannesburg. The tournament will be a vital test of South Africa's infrastructure less than 1 year away from the start of the World Cup on 11 July 2010. In the opening game the hosts played out a disappointing 0-0 draw with Iraq while at the time of writing favourites Spain are 4-0 up against New Zealand before half time.
